Oral Conscious Sedation

To alleviate pain and to ensure our patients' maximum comfort during dental treatment, we offer oral sedation dentistry to patients from Charleston, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach. This involves a simple pill, taken orally. Although our patients are not unconscious with oral sedation dentistry, they are in a complete state of relaxation similar to sleep and do not feel pain. We monitor our patients throughout the procedure and assure their safety. In many cases, oral sedation dentistry has an amnesiac effect on patients, and they remember little to nothing of their dental treatment, almost as if they were asleep. To find out if oral sedation "sleep" dentistry is right for you, contact Charleston dentist John Rink, DDS, AAACD today.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

In addition to oral sedation dentistry, we also offer nitrous oxide sedation dentistry to patients in Charleston, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach. Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide has been used by dentists for decades to put patients into a profound state of relaxation. This gas is frequently combined with the use of local anesthetics for optimal results. If you are interested in receiving nitrous oxide sedation dentistry at our Charleston practice, contact us today to set up a consultation.

Digital Cosmetic Imaging

Dr. John Rink offers digital cosmetic imaging to prospective patients in Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach who are considering procedures such as porcelain veneers, instant orthodontics, cosmetic periodontics, and more. Dr. Rink can show potential patients how cosmetic dentistry can improve their appearance and give them a sneak preview of what they would look like following a cosmetic or restorative dentistry procedure.

Digital computer imaging can help doctor and patient select the procedure that will provide the best results and help make the visit more enjoyable. If you are interested in digital cosmetic imaging, you can also visit our smile gallery page to view actual photos of patients treated with dental veneers, dental crowns, and more. To learn more about new dental technologies like digital cosmetic imaging, or to find out more about oral sedation dentistry, or "sleep" dentistry, contact the Charleston Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry today!

Digital X-Rays

Dr. John Rink uses digital x-rays to ensure accurate diagnosis and superior dental care. Capturing an image with digital x-rays is not only faster than with traditional x-rays, it is also safer. Digital x-rays reduce exposure to radiation by as much as 90 percent. During the process, Dr. Rink will place a small sensor into the mouth and record images of the patient's teeth that will be instantly transmitted to a computer screen. From there, Dr. Rink can review the results and come up with an immediate treatment plan.

Intraoral Camera

With the intraoral camera, Dr. Rink can diagnose potential dental problems early on while they are still relatively easy to treat. The camera itself is about the size of a pen and can be easily inserted into a patient's mouth. From there, images taken by the camera will be displayed on a computer screen for both doctor and patient to view. The intraoral camera gives patients the knowledge they need to better understand their treatment, and helps Dr. Rink diagnose potential gum and teeth issues quickly and effectively.

CEREC AC

Smile restorations with dental crowns, porcelain veneers, and dental implants used to require multiple visits to our Charleston office, but not anymore! CEREC AC technology allows Dr. Rink to complete cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry procedures in a single appointment. CEREC AC features a special camera that takes an accurate picture of damaged teeth.

The picture is then digitally displayed, and the computer creates a restoration while the patient waits. This custom restoration is matched to the shade of the patient’s natural teeth and bonded to the surface of the old tooth. To learn more about CEREC AC technology and how it can help restore dental crowns, dental veneers, and dental implants, watch our video and then please contact our Charleston office today.
