Transform Your Smile

If you are unhappy with your teeth or smile because of aesthetic imperfections or functional problems, the cosmetic and restorative dentistry services offered by our practice can help. In cases of cosmetically flawed teeth, Dr. John Rink may recommend the placement of porcelain veneers to conceal small chips, cracks, or stains. In more severe cases, missing or badly damaged teeth can be replaced with dental implants, with natural-looking tooth restorations to reinstate normal appearance, health, and function. Often, these cases are referred to as full mouth restoration plans.

We invite you to learn more about these options and browse before-and-after photos of our patients who have had dental implant restorations or porcelain veneers placed. Contact our Charleston office if you'd like to schedule an appointment to discuss either of these services with our doctors.

Porcelain Veneers

Our practice frequently uses porcelain veneers in our smile makeovers. Veneers are thin porcelain sheaths that are slipped over the surfaces of teeth to conceal aesthetic flaws such as chips, cracks, stains, or small gaps. Once placed, veneers create an even set of perfectly spaced, dazzling white teeth.

The porcelain veneer placement process is simple and convenient, thanks to the CEREC® one-visit restoration system. With digital technology, we take impressions of your teeth that are used to design your veneers. This information is sent to an in-office milling machine that fabricates your veneers. After your teeth have been prepared (meaning a small bit of tooth structure is removed), we place the veneers over your natural teeth and you are able to start enjoying your beautiful smile!

Dental Implant Restoration

Dental implants are used to replace natural teeth that have fallen out or need to be removed because of extreme damage or decay. A dental implant is a titanium rod placed in the jawbone and topped with an artificial tooth that sits on top of the gums.

Once placed, implants prevent the surrounding teeth from shifting out of place and causing oral health problems. Drs. Rink and Ammons restore dental implants by attaching artificial teeth, usually crowns, to the titanium roots. Dental implant restorations look, feel, and function like natural, healthy teeth. Implants may also be used to anchor bridges or dentures.
