Understanding the Benefits of Veneers
If your teeth do not look their absolute best, or you are looking for a simple way to rejuvenate your smile, porcelain veneers may be right for you. Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells, individually crafted and placed on the front surfaces of teeth to conceal a wide variety of cosmetic flaws. Custom-fabricated porcelain veneers placed by Dr. John Rink can give your appearance a dazzling, youthful-looking boost. Currently one of the most popular forms of cosmetic dentistry, porcelain veneers are often preferred for their quick, painless, and comprehensive results. Putting the Finishing Touch on Your Smile
One of the reasons thousands of people turn to veneers is because they are so versatile. By covering a tooth, veneers can effectively overcome a number of aesthetic imperfections, such as:
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Uneven or crooked teeth
- Misshapen or worn teeth
- Gaps between teeth
Porcelain veneers can be used to enhance a single tooth, a few teeth, or all the anterior teeth that show when you laugh and speak. Veneers can also be easily combined with other dental treatments. In fact, veneers are often part of a full mouth reconstruction or smile makeover that addresses all of your oral health and aesthetic needs.
Same-day Fabrication and Placement
Porcelain veneer production and placement is generally a simple process, but Dr. Rink’s streamlined treatment plan offers the ultimate in patient convenience. Using an innovative CERC® machine in the office, he can custom-craft your veneers and place them in one easy visit. First, digital, wax-less impressions are taken of your teeth, and the information is fed directly into the CERC® machine. Your veneers will then be carefully fabricated to match the shade and shape of your natural smile. You can wait in our office and read, check your email, or even doze off while your veneers are made. For patients who are having several veneers fabricated, this process can take a couple of days, and a second office visit may be required.
When your veneers are finished, a slight alternation or light etching will be made to the teeth depending on the type of veneers you choose. The veneers are then bonded to your teeth. Once finished, your veneers will be fully functional, and you can return to your everyday activities confident in your newly improved smile.
Ultra-thin Prep-less Veneers
Many of our patients are good candidates for no-prep veneers, which offer a unique set of benefits. These veneers are made of ultra-thin shells and are placed without little to no need to alter each tooth. This means that patients can reverse the procedure if they wish in the future, and not need a restoration to strengthen the tooth and maintain its appearance.
A Long-lasting, Bright Smile
Veneers can be cleaned just like your natural teeth. With proper at-home care and professional cleanings, veneers can last for years. Another fantastic advantage of choosing porcelain veneers is that they are stain resistant. They will not discolor or tarnish from eating or drinking darkly colored foods. Their enduring, bright appearance is another reason why they are a great long-term investment in your smile and sense of self.
