Charleston, South Carolina - Dr. John Rink and three team members from the Charleston Center for Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry attended this year's American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) conference in Orlando, Florida. The AACD 2014 conference took place from April 30th to May 3rd at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
Featuring guest speakers, demonstrations, and panels, the AACD conference gave Dr. Rink and his team members ample opportunity to interact with other dental professionals and learn about the latest advances and techniques that will ultimately benefit patients.
Entering its 30th year in existence, the AACD is a professional organization committed to excellence in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Accreditation by the AACD demonstrates a true commitment to what is best for patients and what the future holds.
"The Academy provides a forum for education and innovation in esthetic dentistry," Dr. Rink said.
Currently, the AACD has more than 6,000 members who are based in more than 70 countries around the globe.
In addition to great speeches from featured guests, the AACD conference boasts a number of scientific sessions on new innovations in cosmetic dentistry. There were live demonstrations of dental treatments. These live sessions are a unique way for dentists and dental technicians to share their skills and further refine them with their peers.
"There are always scientific advancements that we discover at these sessions that allow us to help our patients achieve their esthetic goals with the most advanced procedures and materials available," Dr. Rink said.
While the demonstrations and scientific sessions are invaluable, the ability to interact with other dental health professionals is also something that cannot be taken for granted.
Dr. Rink and his team got to meet other members and fellows of the AACD from around the world, sharing their own experiences to help further the field as a whole. There were also a number of vendors at the AACD conference who showed off new products that can enhance the beauty and health of patient's smiles.
While the AACD conference is a great gathering of dentists and dental aestheticians, the ultimate focus is really the patient and improving patient health and experience. This is the reason that the AACD was created in the first place.
Dr. Rink and his team focused on how to make the Charleston Center for Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry an even better practice than it is currently. They were on the lookout for advances in porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and porcelain crowns technology so patients can have smiles that look great and are healthy as well.
